For more than 100 years, Wingate
University has provided excellence in higher education. Wingate
University introduced its bachelor degree completion and graduate programs at the
Matthews Center in 1993 and recently renamed the center to Wingate
University School of Graduate & Adult Education at the Metro
Campus in Matthews.
Through Wingate University, adults and non-traditional
students can receive personal, exceptional education to achieve
their career goals at their own pace during evening hours. A convenient
location in downtown historic Matthews makes it even easier. Close
to Hwy 51, Hwy 74, and I-485, Wingate University's Metro Campus is
located at Matthews Station near the Matthews Town Hall.
Candidates for the fully-accredited graduate and undergraduate
programs may choose from a wide range of degrees:
Most of the faculty teach on the main campus and hold the Doctoral
degree in their area of expertise. Adjunct professors teach on occasion
if they hold the appropriate credentials.
Financial Aid is available for all students. As a student of a
private institution, North Carolina citizens are eligible to receive
the North Carolina Legislative Tuition Grant (NCLTG) as long as
the student carries 12 credit hours per semester. The grant currently
provides $950 each semester or $1,900 for the school year.
Wingate University is a private university affiliated with the Baptist
State Convention of North Carolina, yet its students represent a
broad range of religious faiths.
Wingate welcomes you to join the class!
The MBA program and undergraduate business programs are nationally
accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and
Programs. The Thayer School of Education at Wingate University is
accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher
Education and the North Carolina Dept. of Public Instruction. The
university is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools.
